World Peace Kwan Se Um Bo Sal

The meaning of Kwan Se Um Bo Sal is World Perceive Sound of All Sentient Beings, and the purpose of Kwan Se Um Bo Sal is to help all sentient beings accomplish their wishes. This is the Kwan Se Um Bo Sal.

No matter what kind of difficulty the sentient being has, if he sincerely thinks about Kwan Se Um Bo Sal and repeats the name of Kwan Se Um Bo Sal, then Kwan Se Um Bo Sal will hear that sound and help that person with his difficulty.

As you know, our mantra contains Kwan Se Um Bo Sal within its 21 syllables.

The world of sentient beings is the world of sentient beings living in desire, thus Kwan Se Um Bo Sal first wants to help make the wishes of sentient beings come true. Kwan Se Um Bo Sal first rescues the sentient beings, and afterwards helps them on the correct path, which is the path of Buddha, bringing them infinite prosperity and happiness.

Now, in this world of mankind, one of the biggest Kwan Se Um Bo Sal statues on this whole globe (open the image gallery) is here in our monastery, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean; this Kwan Se Um Bo Sal, which is carved out of solid granite, is here in order to save all sentient beings and to help us accomplish world peace. Thus, anyone who practices in front of this Kwan Se Um Bo Sal will be helped in making his wishes come true and will always be led onto the path of Buddha.

The most important part of this Kwan Se Um Bo Sal is the sarira of Shakyamuni Buddha, which we will place in this World Peace Kwan Se Um Bo Sal. These sarira are the most revered and important of all the sarira from Shakyamuni Buddha.

I received these sarira from My master many, many years ago and have kept them safely for a very long time. For 2500 years these sarira have been handed down from master to master, and now I am most happy to place them in the World Peace Kwan Se Um Bo Sal. This World Peace Kwan Se Um Bo Sal is actually our good luck Kwan Se Um Bo Sal.

The reason I say this is because in our lives, when everyone is comfortable, we will have the mind of space. In this mind of space, which every human being has, we will automatically have the beautiful mind of the bodhisattva, which means instead of taking things from others, we will have the mind of offering to others. At the same time, with that offering mind we will always connect with each other just like family. That will help eliminate our human suffering and help us to bring peace to this world.

What I am teaching you is not new. You heard about it before in either this or a past life. This daily teaching is simply to remind us so that we can be clear and live correctly in this and future lives. Believing this teaching is entirely the decision of the one who reads it.
